Shimmering Gold

Our lives are rainbows. Sunny days are full of laughter, Sweet and melodic Like the birds in the blue. Eyes sparkle, serene and sincere As though they are dappled With the pale evening stars. When the clouds gather above, Our feet shuffle Through streets of murmurs, Those same eyes dull and mature Whilst observing the ground below, Wishing away the coming storm. On the day the cloud breaks, Shattering rain falls In torrents of screaming hail, Pelting out trembling, chilled frames With the bitter thunder and lightning Of childhood nightmares and pain. When our exposed skin shivers, Soaked straight through With endless torm

The Tempest or Emissions

By virtue of it's cracks and broken pieces the pavement is a sponge. It grapples the water and sewage, and yawns to absorb the bodies as they fall. The highways are like the strings connecting pulleys and cogs amongst the cities. Or perhaps they are the vampric veins moving stolen blood between the organs of a massive creature. Unseeing and archaic, it thinks in the darkness underground. The back roads are its fingers stretching slowly around the countryside. We claim creation from the palm of its hand.

A Thousand Words To Fill The Heart

We've heard the saying millions of times before, "A picture is worth a thousand words". So when I drew that heart of your hand, I also wrote the words that filled that tiny picture drawn in a weak black pen. I've written the same three words 333 times to make my point. I love you. I love you. I love you. And on that final line, I wrote the one word that would make my feelings stand true. I love you forever.

What Happened to Ray Brady-A Halloween Short Story

Kevin Salt wandered into Whisper Falls at 6:45 in the morning on a Tuesday in October. He hadn’t intended on coming here. When he visited the bus depot two towns over the previous night, he simply looked for the most crowded vehicle with a sleep-deprived-looking driver that might not notice him sneaking on amidst the students and graveyard shifters. The trick didn’t work every time, but it worked enough to still be an efficient way of getting around when you were a broke drifter. This place had its own unique smell. Most cities did, Kevin found, at least for those who took the time to stop and smell the urbanity. Though there weren’t any visible, he reasoned that the name ‘Whisper Falls’ must be at least partially literal, with one or several waterfalls being littered throughout, giving the place a wet and muggy scent that was distinct from places near a lake or ocean. This was blanketed by the wafting aromas of autumn; dead leaves, pumpkins both fresh and rotting, petrichor from a

The Street Artist's Sailboat

There once was a well-known street artist Who was as clever as could be. He could make his art very lifelike Which was quite a sight to see. He liked tricking people with his art For it was all too easy. One day, while walking down the street With his art supplies in hand, He couldn't help but notice that The roads just looked too bland. If only it had a bit more pizzazz Wouldn’t that be grand? After staring at the street for a while, An idea came to his head. If there wasn’t anyone who could brighten the road, He would do it himself instead. Looking at his chalks, he thought "Why not?" He might as well go ahead. He stepped right onto the empty road Making sure no cars were coming by, It was time to set his plan into action, He might as well give it a try. He knew this project would be the best, Though he wouldn’t tell others why. With his chalk, he began to draw For an hour, or maybe two He added some black, a bit of white, And just a few touches of blue. How clever he was, for

The Case of Saika Chapter 11 - Durarara!!

Story cover/Artwork drawn by Mizutheduckarts Check out her websites, instagram.com/theduckarts/ and twitter.com/Mizutheduckarts After making a stop at their hideout to retrieve his suitcase full of bottles of infectious diseases, Takashi and Saika continue their journey to Ikebukuro. Upon arriving there, they head over to the building known as Sunshine 60 and make their way to its rooftop where they can set up the Seishu to fire the diseases and infect the entire city. Due to its status as one of the tallest buildings in Tokyo and located in one of the city's most famous and populated districts, it is no surprise that they would choose Sunshine 60 to execute the final step of their ultimate plan. When they arrived, Saika and Takashi walk over to the left side of the rooftop and the former Nebula employee places the device and suitcase down on the floor. He puts on a pair of safety goggles, a protective mask, and latex gloves first before carefully opening his suitcase to reveal

What if Ash's journey ended sooner?

In a conversation about the rivals in the Pokemon anime, I started to wonder, what if Ash's journey ended earlier? So, I have decided to look at each season, think out which points would make the best conclusion, and what a good conclusion would have looked like. Generation 1: This is an obvious one. Originally, Ash was supposed to battle Gary in the final round of the Indigo League like how their game counterparts square off. In this case, Ash would win, and Gary accepts the loss but warns Ash not to get complacent since just winning the championship doesn’t mean you cannot lose. Professor congratulates both of them on how far they came (unlike in the game where he is a dick to his grandson), saying that many starter trainers don’t get as far as they do in the Pokemon League. But since this defeat did help Ash’s character development, it would be better if Ash lost in a match that was actually fair (preferably against Gary, who still doesn’t win the tournament), had a moment of
